Elena Tejada-Herrera was born in Lima, Peru. She studied at the Art Department of the Catholic University, at VCU in Virginia, and at SAIC in Chicago. Elena graduated as a paintor but was also working on installation art. Elena started to realize irruptive performances in public spaces. Soon after she incorporated video and continued to develop multimedia forms of art. Currently she continues to produce artworks that incorporate people's participation. Her trans-disciplinary artworks defy classifications and have a hybrid nature. Nowadays she has given the protagonism to the public.

Elena realizo performances irruptivas en espacios publicos.Luego empezo a trabajar con el video y otras formas de arte de multiples medios. Elena trabaja en formas de arte participativas, donde el publico tiene el protagonismo y ya no ella. Su trabajo escapa clasificaciones, es de naturaleza híbrida y trans-disciplinaria.
