Elena Tejada-Herrera works with interdisciplinary experimental art forms. Her artworks include traditional art forms and new technologies like the use of telephone lines, Internet, blogging, vlogging. Her performances shifted the attention over the body of the performer towards the bodies and actions of the participant public. She uses techniques from different disciplines, such as anthropology; as well as strategies from the mass media; and forms of affective and behavior relations among others. She introduced irruptive risky performances as a protest against Fujimori's dictatorship in Peru. With her art she seeks to facilitate cultural exchanges, social empowerment, individuals empowerment, and social change.
